Blue Uniform

Following the positive feedback received from stakeholders about the green uniform, the Brazilian National Rowing Team debuted a new design in 2019, initially sponsored by surfwear brand Mormaii. The stripes were maintained but turned into a chevron pattern, and the green gradient was updated with shades of blue.

The decision to use blue instead of green was necessary in order to avoid similarities with other nation’s uniforms, especially Australia. Although traditionally known as Brazilian colors, Australia has used green and yellow extensively over the years. At the 2016 Olympics, some photographers even confused Australia with Brazil.

The new design became a hit with athletes and later applied to shirts, winter jackets and even masks during the pandemic. To contrast with the blue background, a new shade of yellow mixed with light green was used for typography.
